Thanksgiving on Maui: Celebrate at Sea with Trilogy Excursions

Thanksgiving dinner maui

Thanksgiving is a day for slowing down, sharing a good meal, and spending time with the people you’re most grateful for. And if you’re celebrating Thanksgiving on Maui this year, we can think of a pretty special place to gather around the table.

Visiting Maui for the holiday? Make this a Thanksgiving you’ll be talking about long after you head home. Live here and don’t feel like shopping, cooking a four-course meal, and tackling the mountain of dishes afterward? We’ve got you.

This Thanksgiving, trade the traditional dining room for an evening at sea aboard Trilogy’s Thanksgiving Sunset Dinner Sail. Settle into an intimate two-top table on deck as Maui’s coastline drifts by, enjoy a chef-prepared four-course Thanksgiving dinner, and raise a glass as the sun sets over the Pacific. Once daylight fades, the evening continues beneath the stars as we sail back to shore.

With an adults-only setting, departures from both Lahaina Harbor and Māʻalaea, and just two boats available for this special holiday sail, Thanksgiving at Sea with Trilogy Excursions offers a different way to celebrate a familiar tradition—one centered around good food, beautiful views, and time together.

Spots are limited, so we recommend reserving early if Thanksgiving on the water sounds like your kind of holiday.

What Does Thanksgiving at Sea Look Like?

If you’re familiar with our Captain’s Sunset Dinner Sail, you already have a pretty good idea. For Thanksgiving, we’re taking the dinner sail you know and giving the menu a holiday twist.

Your evening begins as you settle into your own intimate two-top table on deck, where a warm bread service and drinks kick things off as we sail along Maui’s coastline. Once we reach a protected cove, dinner begins and our Crew takes care of the rest.

Instead of our regular dinner menu, you’ll be served a chef-prepared, four-course Thanksgiving feast created especially for the holiday. And yes, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin dessert all made the cut—but with a few Maui touches along the way.

As the evening winds down, there’s no restaurant bill to wait for and, perhaps best of all, no pile of Thanksgiving dishes waiting for you at home. Just settle back in for the sail beneath the stars and enjoy the rest of your Thanksgiving night on the water.

A Thanksgiving Feast—Trilogy Style

Thanksgiving Dinner Maui

Pūpū Trio

Now, let’s talk about one of the most important parts of Thanksgiving: the food.

Our culinary team has created a special four-course menu just for Thanksgiving Day, bringing the comforting flavors you expect from a Thanksgiving dinner together with ingredients and flavors from here on Maui. You’ll still find turkey, stuffing, whipped potatoes, cranberry relish, and pumpkin dessert on the table—alongside locally grown produce and a few Trilogy twists.

Bread Service

We’ll start with freshly baked Rosemary & Alaea Sea Salt-Crusted Focaccia, finished with rosemary and Hawaiian alaea sea salt and served with whipped lilikoi butter.

Pūpū Trio

Next comes a trio of small bites, beginning with Candied Molokaʻi Sweet Potato, roasted with warm holiday spices and finished with toasted marshmallow fluff.

You’ll also enjoy an ʻAliʻi Mushroom Tartlet, featuring savory mushroom duxelles tucked into flaky puff pastry and finished with crispy sage, along with Whipped Surfing Goat Dairy Chèvre, paired with house-made Maui mango chutney and grilled pita.

The Main Course

And then comes Thanksgiving dinner.

The centerpiece is an Herb-Roasted Turkey Duo, with herb-roasted turkey breast and slow-roasted turkey thigh served with rich roasted turkey gravy.

Alongside it, we’re serving Roasted Garlic Yukon Gold Whipped Potatoes, Ohtani Farms Honey Glazed Carrots, and locally grown Penacia Farms Bok Choy. You’ll also get Portuguese Linguiça & Herb Stuffing and a bright House Cranberry Relish with fresh citrus.

It has everything you want to see on a Thanksgiving plate, with a few flavors that make it distinctly our own.

Save Room for Dessert

Thanksgiving dinner wouldn’t feel quite complete without something pumpkin.

We’re finishing the evening with Spiced Pumpkin Cheesecake over a buttery graham cracker crust, topped with vanilla Chantilly cream.

Four courses, Thanksgiving favorites, and not a single dish for you to wash afterward. We’d say that’s something to be thankful for.

Harvest Ol’ Fashioned

A Thanksgiving Twist on an Ol’ Fashioned

Thanksgiving deserves its own cocktail, right?

Meet the Harvest Ol’ Fashioned, our holiday take on a good ol’ fashioned—and a special you’ll only find aboard our Thanksgiving Dinner Sail. Made with Redemption Bourbon, agave syrup, Watkins bitters, and a splash of water, then finished with a cinnamon stick and orange peel, it brings a little holiday warmth to the bar.

Sip one as the sun goes down, pair it with your Thanksgiving feast, or save it for an after-dinner drink beneath the stars. And because the Harvest Ol’ Fashioned is only making an appearance for Thanksgiving Day, this is your one chance to give it a try this year.

Our full bar will also be available throughout the sail, with wine, local beer, signature cocktails, and non-alcoholic options. Guests must be 21+ to enjoy alcoholic beverages.

Choose Your Thanksgiving Departure

Whether you’re staying on West Maui or closer to South Maui, you have two ways to join us for Thanksgiving at sea.

This year, we’re offering one Thanksgiving Dinner Sail departing from Lahaina Harbor and one departing from Māʻalaea Harbor. Both will feature the same special Thanksgiving menu and the Captain’s Sunset Dinner Sail experience, so you can simply choose the departure that works best for your plans.

Tickets are $175 per person, and this special holiday sail is reserved for guests 18 and older.

And when we say this is a limited Thanksgiving experience, we mean it. We’re opening just two boats for Thanksgiving Day, with one sailing from each harbor. Once those seats are spoken for, that’s it!

If Thanksgiving dinner with an ocean view sounds better than spending the day in the kitchen, we recommend reserving your seats early.

Spend Thanksgiving on the Water With Us

There’s a lot to be grateful for here on Maui, and Thanksgiving gives us a chance to slow down and appreciate it together.

Whether you’re visiting Maui for the holiday or you call this island home, we’d love to welcome you aboard. Come hungry, bring someone you’re thankful for, and leave the cooking to us. We’ll take care of dinner while Maui takes care of the view.

With only two boats sailing this Thanksgiving, space is limited. Reserve your seats for Thanksgiving at Sea with Trilogy Excursions and spend your holiday where we think some of the best memories are made—out on the water.
