What types of private charters does Trilogy offer?
Trilogy offers a range of luxury sailing experiences designed to fit your vision. Any excursion listed on our website is also available as a private charter, however, you can customize the sail and enjoy luxurious privacy when booking a private charter. How many guests can a private charter accomodate?
Our fleet includes spacious sailing catamarans that can host anywhere from small, intimate groups to larger gatherings of up to 48 guests. However, for dinner sails, the maximum number of guests is 36. If you’re planning something bigger, we can discuss multi-vessel options to keep everyone together.
What’s included in a private charter?
Every charter includes:
A professional captain and crew dedicated to your group.
Chef-prepared meals featuring fresh, island-inspired ingredients.
Premium bar service with craft cocktails, local beers, and fine wines.
Snorkeling gear and flotation devices for water activities.
Personalized service from start to finish.
*NEW* When booking a private charter, if you let us know there will be a baby on-board, we will include a baby-crib and a stuffed animal (humpback whale) for the little ones.
How far in advance should I book?
For peak seasons and special events, we recommend booking 6–12 months in advance to secure your preferred date and vessel. Last-minute bookings may be possible, but availability is limited during holidays and wedding season. The absolute latest we could accommodate requests would be with 5 days’ notice, however, this does not include wedding sails, and availability is not guaranteed. The earlier you book, the better!
Can we customize the itinierary?
Absolutely. From choosing your departure time to adding special touches like live music, curated menus, or even a photographer onboard, our team works with you to design the perfect day on the water.
Where do charters depart from?
Most charters depart from Mā‘alaea Harbor or beach loading in Kā‘anapali. Once the Lahaina Harbor is open again, we will resume departures from there as well.

Can we have our wedding ceremony on-board?
Yes! Trilogy provides a stunning setting for intimate ceremonies at sea. Our crew ensures everything runs smoothly, from timing the sail for the perfect sunset to setting up a space for your vows.
Do you provide catering and bar service?
Yes, our onboard chefs prepare fresh, island-inspired menus, and our premium bar features local favorites and craft cocktails. We can accommodate dietary preferences and customize menus to fit your theme. If you would prefer to out-source for catering, we can accommodate that as well.
Is there a minimum or maximum guest count for wedding charters?
There is no minimum— it can just be you and your partner if you want a true elopement style wedding. Our guest capacity does vary per vessel, can see more details on the catamaran’s here. The maximum amount of guests we allow on our catamarans is 49 people. However, if this is for a dinner sail, the maximum is 36 people. For bigger groups, we can arrange multiple vessels so everyone enjoys the experience together.
can we add personal touches like décor or music?
Definitely. We encourage personalization and can coordinate with your planner or vendors to bring your vision to life. Whether it’s floral arrangements, custom signage, personalized playlist, or a live musician, we’ll help make it happen. We do have décor packages you are welcome to choose from, as an add-on, however you are also welcome to out-source for your decorations if our packages do not align with your vision.
What’s the best time of day for a wedding sail?
Sunset sails are the most popular for ceremonies and receptions, offering breathtaking views and golden-hour photography. Morning sails are ideal for snorkeling and brunch events.
What is the best time of year for a wedding sail?
Maui is beautiful year-round, but the most popular months for wedding sails are April through October. These months typically offer calm seas, warm temperatures, and stunning sunsets—perfect for ceremonies and celebrations on the water. If you’re planning a winter wedding, November through March can be just as magical, especially with the chance to spot humpback whales during their migration season. We recommend booking early for peak summer and holiday dates.
Do you provide an officiant?
We have trusted officiants we can hire for the sail, as an add-on price, if you do not have anyone in mind. However, if you have someone you know you would like to officiate the wedding, that is perfectly fine as-well.
