T6 Ocean Crossing: Log #3

Going through the Panama Canal

T6 Through the panama canal

Starting the new year strong, on January 1, 2026 T6 and our crew arrived at the Panama Canal! Being told it would take around 9 days to navigate through the locks they were prepared to buckle down and be patient with the process. However, in a stroke of luck, on January 3, they were moved up in line and able to get through the canal in less than 24 hours!

Panama is a beautiful country full of rich history. We explored the Jungle, wandered the streets of Casco Viejo and hung out in a beautiful Marina. We also were lucky enough to boat through the Panama Canal. It was a remarkable experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. Getting to see something that has had such an impact on the world and getting to appreciate the engineering/work that went into building the canal as you pass through the locks is something I never thought I would do. Also being in there with a 500 foot long cargo ship was very impressive as well.
