T6 Ocean Crossing: Log #1
bringing sexy back— A Historic Journey Home
There are deliveries… and then there are crossings that carry the weight of history.
Right now, Trilogy VI is underway on an ocean crossing unlike any other in our fleet’s story. This is not simply the delivery of a brand-new sailing catamaran from St. Croix to Hawaiʻi — it is bringing Trilogy VI back to Lāhainā.
Trilogy VI is being delivered home to Lāhainā, replacing her namesake that was lost in the devastating 2023 Lahaina Fires. For the crew pioneering this voyage, the journey is deeply personal. Every mile sailed carries remembrance, resilience, and purpose.
This is not an ordinary delivery.
The Crew — Chosen for This Moment
Leading this historic delivery is Captain Michael, alongside a hand-selected crew whose experience, heart, and connection to Trilogy make them uniquely suited for this journey.
The delivery will unfold in stages — first across the Caribbean Sea, through the Panama Canal, and then onward across the Pacific toward Hawaiʻi. Crew members will rotate along the way, each playing a vital role in bringing Trilogy VI home.
first words from Captain Michael Snow
Michael’s history with Trilogy spans more than two decades, shaped by moments of challenge, opportunity, and trust.
“I started with Trilogy in 2001 just two weeks prior to 9/11. Even though I was a brand new employee, Jim Coon allowed me to stay on even though business took a dramatic down turn caused by the events of 9/11. I’ve never forgotten that. I kept busy over the next several years as the manager and scuba instructor at Trilogy’s activities desk in Ka’anapali as well as part time crewing on the boats. I served those positions at Ka’anapali until we moved away from activities booking business and in 2015 I obtained my Captains license where I discovered my true calling. Being a sailing catamaran Captain for Trilogy has been the most fun and fulfilling job I’ve ever had. It has provided me with so many opportunities, including being Captain of record of two of Trilogy’s finest vessels, Trilogy III and Trilogy VII, not to mention getting to work along side some of the industry’s finest, Captain Carrie, Captain Nick O., Captain Katie, Captain Kevin K, Captain Owen and of course Captain Yoshi. The list goes on. All these great individuals helped shape my years at Trilogy. In 2023 just after the Lahaina Fire, Capt Randy Coon picked me to take Trilogy VII loaded with repair materials and repair crew, including Denver Coon, to Fanning island where Denver and the repair crew Gabriel, and Zach P, would hop off to take on the task of repairing Randy’s damaged trimaran Pipeline while myself and the remaining crew, Jenna, Jason, and Helen would would head back to Maui. The whole trip took over 2 weeks and is one of my fondest Trilogy memories. Now onto St. Croix! We’re bringing Sexy back!”
After more than two decades with Trilogy — shaped by trust, challenge, and meaningful crossings — Captain Michael now finds himself once again stepping into a moment that matters deeply to the company and to Lahaina.
“I am excited and honored to be the captain leading a great crew to bring the brand new Trilogy VI from St. Croix to its new home in Lāhainā Hawai’i. Along with engineer and experienced sailor Gabriel Garcia, we will begin the Journey from St. Croix with two of Trilogy’s long time and dedicated crew members, 2025 Employee of the year Amy West, and fan favorite, Trilogy V’s very own MOR Chris Stein. Amy and Chris will help Gabriel, myself and noted delivery captain Jim Whipple, sail across the Caribbean Sea to Panama, through the Panama Canal to Panama City. Once there, Gabriel and I will say goodbye to Captain Jim, Chris and Amy as they will be handing off their crew duties to two more outstanding crew. Joining us for the Pacific crossing will be Chancey Juska, who recently obtained her Captains license and is eager to build her knowledge and experience. Captain Kuki’i Falahee-Walker, Trilogy’s own operation manager will fly into Panama City with Chancey to join Gabriel and I to begin the long final leg of the delivery from Panama to Hawaii. Speaking on behalf of myself, Gabriel, Amy, Chris, Kuki’i and Chancey, we are proud and honored to have been chosen for this monumental task. This is no ordinary delivery. We will be bringing Trilogy VI back to Lahaina to replace her name sake that was destroyed in the devastating 2023 Lahaina Fire. Each of us that will be on this historic delivery, have been directly impacted by the Lahaina fires, which gives us all the heart felt purpose to reclaim a small part of what was lost that day. The original Trilogy VI, dubbed “T Sexy” by Captain Turtle, has provided the crew with the theme for the delivery, “Bringing sexy back”, and that’s what we’re gonna do! Next stop…Lahaina!!”

“Delivering a new Trilogy boat has been a goal of mine since I first started at Trilogy nearly 5 years ago! I am beyond excited for the experience of crossing the Pacific, the challenge, and learning as much as I can along the way.”

“Aloha!! My name is Amy and I grew up in New Jersey. I started sailing when I was 15 years old in the British Virgin Islands for a summer program. I instantly fell in love and followed my passion for sailing to Maui. I’m so excited to get back to the Caribbean for the first time in 10 years. Im looking forward to going through the lock system of the Panama Canal the most!”

sailing forward
Every ocean crossing demands seamanship, preparation, and trust.
This one also carries memory, healing, and hope.
Trilogy VI is not just being delivered to Maui — she is being welcomed home with intention, respect, and aloha. This journey honors what was lost, and affirms what continues.
More updates to come as Trilogy VI makes her way across oceans and into the next chapter of Trilogy history.
