*New* Maui Snorkeling Tour: Discover West Maui Snorkel!

Know what the best thing about snorkeling from a boat in Maui? No two tours are the same.

In our 50 years of offering Maui snorkeling tours we can confidently say we’ve never had the exact same experience twice.

That’s the beauty of working outdoors — where the marine life, wind, weather, and conditions are occurring naturally on their own unique cycles—indifferent to us humans and our plans.

You can trust us as Maui’s oldest sailing company to study the conditions, know our environment, and use our judgment to determine what—and where—will offer the best experience.

And, with our brand new Maui snorkeling tour— Discover West Maui Snorkel—that’s exactly what we do each day: Set out to find the best conditions.

The trip departs at 9am from Lahaina Harbor, in West Maui, and points its bow to wherever the Captain deems will be the best spot.

Discover West Maui features two different snorkeling sites, and while Olowalu (site of Maui’s “Mother Reef”) is the snorkeling spot of choice, the trip could head north to Namalu Bay just offshore from Kapalua, or even cross the ‘Au‘au Channel to the eastern coast of Lana‘i.

Maybe Mala Wharf will offer pristine conditions, where honu (turtles), he‘e (octopus) and mano lalakea (white tipped reef sharks) all navigate the sunken pilings.

And, of course, since you’re cruising West Maui, there’s always the chance that a pod of dolphins may swim up and say hello, or that our winter visitors—Humpback whales—could splash and breach, when in season.

Slightly different than our Discover Ka‘anapali trip, which often heads north toward Honolua Bay, the Discover West Maui starts a bit later (9am vs 7am/8am), in case you need to sleep in a little bit after enjoying last night’s lu‘au!

Since the trip departs from Lahaina Harbor and doesn’t involve loading from the beach, it’s easier for travelers with mobility issues to embark and disembark the boat.

Finally, throughout the tour, you’ll not only be treated to spectacular views of West Maui’s ridge lines and peaks, but also enjoy Trilogy’s famous BBQ , where aloha is one of the fixings. You can upgrade the experience to include a SNUBA dive (subject to availability), and it’s the freedom to explore and the hint of unknown that give this Maui snorkeling trip an added dose of adventure.
