Trilogy Hosts Seabury Winterim: Educating & Inspiring Maui’s Next Generation
Trilogy is proud to have hosted the 2025 group students for Seabury Academy’s Winterim Marine Science Experience.
As a third-generation, locally owned company, Trilogy Excursions is passionate about stewardship of Hawaii’s precious marine resources. This commitment goes beyond just business; it’s about embracing Hawaiian culture and investing in the next generation of Maui’s keiki (children).
At Trilogy Excursions, we believe that the future is bright, especially when we invest in our youth. Recently, we had an incredible opportunity to host the Seabury Winterim program, where we engaged and inspired Maui's next generation through hands-on learning and adventurous experiences. This initiative is just one example of how we are dedicated to nurturing young minds while fostering resilience, teamwork, and a deep appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounds us in Hawaii.
Each year, we are thrilled to host Seabury Hall students for “Winterim,” a week dedicated to immersive, hands-on learning both at sea and on land.
This year’s Marine Sciences Experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Students dove into a variety of subjects that enriched their understanding of the natural world around them. Here’s a glimpse into their journey:
🌋 Island Geology & Reef Formation
The students gained insights into how our beautiful islands and vibrant reefs were formed, connecting them with the geological history of Maui. Understanding these processes fosters a greater appreciation for our environment.
🐢 Wildlife Conservation
Exploring the unique ecosystems of Hawaii, students studied native species, including Hawaiian sea turtles, native fish, and magnificent humpback whales. This exploration emphasized the importance of conservation and the role each of us plays in protecting our wildlife.
🌱 Mauka to Makai Stewardship
In collaboration with Kipuka Olowalu, students participated in a hands-on experience planting native species. This vital work contributes to the health of our reefs and demonstrates the interconnectedness of our land and sea.
⛵ Sailing & Ocean Exploration
Learning to sail on Trilogy’s vessels, students navigated the waters to iconic Maui locations like Molokini and Lānaʻi. This experience not only enhanced their nautical skills but also deepened their connection to the ocean.
🌀 Hawaiian Culture & Protocol
The week was enriched with cultural experiences, including chanting an entrance Oli (prayer) before stepping onto the island of Lānaʻi. Learning about respect for place and Hawaiian protocol instilled a sense of responsibility and appreciation for our rich heritage.
By connecting students to Hawaiian culture, the ocean, and conservation, we hope to inspire a new generation of stewards dedicated to protecting our island home.
A heartfelt mahalo to everyone who made this incredible week possible! Your support is vital in nurturing the future leaders of our community.
