Aloha to 2022!—Trilogy Excursions End of Year Recap

Aloha to all our amazing guests who joined us in 2022!

We enjoyed 365 sunsets this year, and as the sun sets on our 49th year of Maui snorkeling and sailing tours, we wanted to reflect on some of the year’s highlights, and how they’ll carry us into 2023—our 50th anniversary!

For the Community

We had the pleasure of hosting 10 Blue ‘Aina reef cleanups in 2022, which allowed 344 different participants to lend a hand in cleaning Maui’s reefs and learn about protecting our environment. We also hosted 11 keiki whale watches that allowed 369 of Maui’s youth to experience the beauty of our winter visitors and see Maui’s Humpbacks firsthand!

Our crew also contributed over 1,400 cumulative hours of volunteer work in Maui Nui, from removing invasive weeds above Kaheawa wind farm to tons of plastic from Kaho‘olawe’s beaches. We planted native species to reforest Lanai’s slopes, and helped restore an ancient fishpond along Maui’s shoreline, in Waihe‘e. We even had time to take 30 of our crew on a circumnavigation of Kaho‘olawe, to learn about the island’s tortured past and experience its rugged beauty.

AND, in a huge move for our island and ocean, we outfitted a vessel—Trilogy 2—to operate completely on biodiesel, which has saved 8,000 gallons in fossil fuels and is projected to save close to 10,000 per year!

For Us

Even after three generations of hosting guests in Maui, we’re still humbled by good word-of-mouth, or when someone leaves a review. Our greatest joy is knowing we helped others experience our island home, and 2022 was another year of being ranked as one of the best tour companies and things to do in Maui!

Finally, after 49 years of snorkeling tours in Maui, we’re still striving to offer a better product, service, experience—and boats!

One of our top highlights of 2022 was the brand new edition of Trilogy VII, which a team of Trilogy captains and crew helped sailed over 7,000 miles from St. Croix to Lahaina Harbor, here in Maui.

With the much-anticipated arrival of Trilogy VII, it means we’ve added five new catamarans over the course of the past six years, which means the fleet is looking better than ever as we sail into 2023—our 50th year here on Maui!

Most importantly, while it may seem like a lot has happened over the course of 2022, none of it would be possible if it weren’t for YOU, so a huge mahalo nui loa from the entire Trilogy ‘ohana.
