Honeymoon Hot Spots on Maui

One of the most coveted honeymoon spots in the world, Maui plays host to a wide variety of guests.  Our Honeymoon Hotspots on Maui top 10 list is geared toward the eco-conscious and adventurous at heart looking for experiences with the truest expression of Aloha.  We hope you will enjoy some of these gems in no particular order:

  1. Mama's Fish House

Nestled between the plantation town of Paia and the classic surfing hotbed Ho’okipa, Mama’s Fish House is a must visit while on Maui. Take your sweetie by the hand and slip into the entrance where you are greeted by courteous staff decked out in exquisite Hawaiian dress. An abundance of stunning floral bouquets are proudly presented throughout and a perfect backdrop for photos.  Mama’s brings locally sourced to a whole new level by listing the fisherman, location and method used for each daily selection. Steeped in a rich history of adventure and appreciation for the Island, Mama’s Fish House menu will titillate the senses with an experience like no other.  Island celebrities are known to be spotted enjoying the expertise of house mixologists, so don’t be surprised by their familiar faces.

2. Road to Hana to Black Sand Beach

What could be more romantic than a day of waterfall hopping with your beau or bella along the road to Hana: ending it with a visit to a black sand beach surrounded by its notorious “glistening water." Maui’s Wai'anapanapa State Park will not disappoint. Hike in for breathtaking views of lava cliffs and arches, and let the sound of waves splashing in lava tubes lull you into love. Heed the signs and don’t be surprised by the blowhole erupting on high surf days, which can blast as high as 30 feet.  Not for the faint at heart, one should only swim here when the water is calm.  Thrill seekers will enjoy the rush or jumping off the black lava cliffs into the big blue. A treasure to behold, you will bring home fond memories of sights like no other.

3. Day trip to Lanai the Views Golf Course at Four Seasons Lanai Jeep Rentals

Just a ferry ride away, Maui’s neighbor island Lana`i is not to be missed. Lana`i is known for some of the sweetest pineapples in the world, which can only be enjoyed on island.  Adventures abound on Hawai`i’s sixth largest island, but you will need 4 wheel drive to explore its nooks and crannies.  Make your way to the Dollar Rent A Car in central Maui and pick up your 4x4 Jeep, the perfect transportation for exploring the rugged terrain.  Before you head out on safari, stop next door and visit Lana`i City Service for any snacks and sundries.  Known as a premiere resort location, you can get a taste of luxury by closing your day trip with drinks at the Views at Menele Golf Course at the newly renovated Four Seasons Resort Lana`i.

10. Sunset at Haleakala or Full Moon Hike

If you are so lucky as to be on Maui during a crisp clear moonlight night, make your way to Maui’s Haleakala Crater.  Sunrise is touted as an experience like that of being on the moon, but the crater by moonlight is an even more celestial experience.  It can be quite chilly on Maui’s “House of the Sun” so bring some cozy coats, something warm to drink and plan on cuddling up tight with your love.
