2. Road to Hana to Black Sand Beach

What could be more romantic than a day of waterfall hopping with your beau or bella along the road to Hana: ending it with a visit to a black sand beach surrounded by its notorious “glistening water." Maui’s Wai'anapanapa State Park will not disappoint. Hike in for breathtaking views of lava cliffs and arches, and let the sound of waves splashing in lava tubes lull you into love. Heed the signs and don’t be surprised by the blowhole erupting on high surf days, which can blast as high as 30 feet.  Not for the faint at heart, one should only swim here when the water is calm.  Thrill seekers will enjoy the rush or jumping off the black lava cliffs into the big blue. A treasure to behold, you will bring home fond memories of sights like no other.
