Trilogy Says "A Hui Hou" To Captain Chris After 36 Years

.

After 36 years of sailing together, Trilogy Excursions bids a hui hou and a big Mahalo to Captain Chris Walsh as he sets out on a new adventure. He will be taking these very significant years of experience in leadership, innovation, team building, sales, marketing, and ultimately as a merchant mariner, to launch a new career as an Independent Consultant. This niche and highly marketable skill set will serve his clients well and we look forward to seeing Chris’s passion light fires in the hearts of all he serves.

Captain Chris came to Trilogy as a 15 year old boy who Mom Coon hired to move rocks out of her garden on hot summer days. This was in 1978.

.

He continued to return every summer from California until moving here and working full-time for Trilogy at the age of 18. He started as a Deckhand and quickly moved to First Mate before getting his Captain’s license at age 21.

.

As the Trilogy business—and the Trilogy family—continued to expand, Captain Chris became an integral team member who formed the core of the Trilogy ohana.

.

.

In addition to receiving his Dive Instructor's Certificate and Merchant Mariner 100 ton Captain's license, Captain Chris worked his way up from Crew Manager, to Operations Group Manager, to General Manager, and leaves us now, after many years, as the Director of Operations.

In addition to his numerous years of service, Captain Chris also delivered many of Trilogy's catamarans from the West Coast of the US to Hawaii. In 1990 he delivered Trilogy I from Aberdeen, Washington to here in Lahaina, Maui...

.

...and in 2010 he captained Trilogy II from the Oregon coastline to its new home in Ma'alaea Harbor.

.

Most recently Captain Chris pioneered our award winning environmental initiative, the

Blue‘Aina Campaign

—a program that took vision, dedication, and passion to start and see through. We look forward to carrying on the successful program he started in 2010 by continuing his vision to inspire and ignite our community to join Blue‘Aina’s efforts in making our oceans thrive.

.

Captain Chris, it is with sorrow in our hearts we say goodbye to a remarkable, hardworking, positive, and loving friend, mentor, and mariner. We will miss you here at Trilogy but know you will excel greatly in your future endeavors.

.

Thank you, Captain Chris for all your dedicated years of leadership and friendship here at Trilogy.

Mahalo Nui Loa,

Captain Jim and Captain Rand and the Trilogy Ohana
