Non-Profit Recipient: Maui Nui Marine Resource Council
Visit one of Maui's coral reefs, with members of the Maui Nui Marine Resource Council who will discuss the current condition of the reef and its stressors. Learn about the current land-based sources of pollution impacting the reef and MNMRC's efforts to monitor water quality via their volunteer program. A snorkel tour will show examples of how corals have been impacted, and recovered, from stressors in the area.
The Maui Nui Marine Resource Council is a broad-based community group working to bring human actions into balance with ecological principles so that the health of our near shore waters will be restored with an abundance of life for future generations. www.mauireefs.org
