Craziest Outing You’ve Ever Had: Well, with a non-Trilogy company my craziest outing was crossing from Moloka’i in a storm. There were consistently 15-foot seas on a boat that leaked and we were managing several electrical fires the whole time we were in the channel. It was miserable. So far I haven’t had anything too bad happen with Trilogy, although I personally liked the other day when a whale was so close I thought he was going to rest his head on the swim step. It was a pretty amazing day.

Favorite Snorkel Spot: Hulopo’e

Where Do YOU Go On Vacation: Most recently I spent 6 weeks in Asia. I flew into Bangkok and traveled by train through Malaysia and down to Singapore. From there I flew into Bali for three weeks and spent a week of my time on the Gili Islands, off of Lombok.

Hobbies/What You Do On A Day Off: Hike, go to the beach, and go to Costco

Favorite Restaurant in Maui: Lahaina Grill

Best Part About Working For Trilogy: All of the people I work with

Suggestions For Passengers On First Trilogy Trip: Bring the whole family out! I love watching adults and their kids being able to enjoy the day equally.

Captain Nick O

Captain Nick O.

This BAH-stin kid has worked for Trilogy for over 4.5 years and from the very beginning was known for his willingness to help out anywhere and everywhere. He was hired as a SNUBA guide, but worked his way up to 1st mate, Safety Coordinator, CPR trainer, got his Captain’s license, Mate Of Record of T2, is now driving full-time Captain shifts, and most recently became Captain Of Record of T5. Nick is not afraid to take on new responsibilities and put in long weeks. He has stood out recently as a new Captain and his willingness to step up into new roles of responsibility are admirable and much appreciated.

Mahalo Captain Nick!

Captain Raquel

Raquel has lived on Maui for many years and has worked for Lahaina Cruise Company, Teralani, and Extended Horizons. She is good friends with Mario and Katieand has recently made the switch to peruse a Sailing career with Trilogy and we are thrilled to have her! Raquel has been an active Captain for quite some time now and will be crewing and running transfers for us this summer. She’s driven Kaulana in and out of Lahaina harbor. Nuff said.

Nick (Shaw)

We knew Nick was a sure winner when on his first Looksee to Lānaʻi, he spent most of the gnarley ride back to Lahaina in 40kt winds on his hands and knees, holding a Dixie cup full of comet in his mouth, scrubbing stains off of the decks.
Nick has a passion for learning and working hard. Right now we are blessed with his passion being Aimed at boats. He spent the better part of a year on Kona working aboard a single-masted sailboat with no standing rigging nor boom. All for free- he did it just for the Knowledge and the opportunity to gain hands on experience.
Most recently, he dropped everything last minute to join the dry dock crew on T1. His workmanship and efficiency have been impressive, and his attitude and morale is always refreshing.
But nick isn't just a hard worker- he's a compassionate fellow and embodies the core values of Pono and lokahi. Nick will often show up to work an hour early and set up the entire boat before anyone even arrives.
Nick will also go to great lengths to take care of our guests and exceed their expectations. You'll see him braving the elements and standing in harms way just to Get the perfect photo for a guest, or you'll see him sharing his mana'o and knowledge about Hawaiian culture with Others.
Nick's next goal is to get his captains license and he is working towards that diligently and efficiently.
Kudos Nick, mahalo for all that you do!
